Ur State Company for
Engineering Industries is owned by the
Ministry of Industry & Minerals.
The company was a
combination of two companies in 1984:
State Enterprise for
Aluminium Industry, founded in 1975.
State Enterprise for
Cables and Wires, founded in 1974.
The plant is located
in Thi-qar governorate, 350km from
Baghdad to the north and 200 km from
Basra to the south.
